Third-party software

The open-source components the desktop app and the agent are built on, their licences, and what those licences let you do.

Updated October 1, 2026

The desktop app and the agent are source-available software, under Pupitre’s licence: the Apache License 2.0 with the Commons Clause. They are built on open-source components, each of which keeps its licence and its authors’ copyright notice. For those components, their licence prevails over Pupitre’s: nothing in Pupitre’s licence takes away what they grant you.

The agent

The pupitred agent is written in Go and embeds only the language’s standard library, under the three-clause BSD licence, copyright The Go Authors.

The site and the console

The site and the console display Bricolage Grotesque and JetBrains Mono, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, served by our own servers.

The software the agent installs

The catalogue’s services — runtimes, databases, coding agents, tools — are not part of Pupitre. The agent installs them on your machine from their official sources, each under its publisher’s licence, which you accept by installing it.

Getting the texts

The complete list of the components of each version, with the text of each licence and each author’s copyright notice, is sent to you on request at legal@pupitre.studio.
