Mailpit
A local SMTP server that catches everything your projects send, and the interface that shows it, both on the loopback.

What it installs
- Mailpit as the static binary of its GitHub release, for this architecture, refused unless its digest is the one GitHub publishes for the asset, then placed under /usr/local/bin.
- A systemd service under the dev account, SMTP on 127.0.0.1:1025 and the interface on 127.0.0.1:8025 by default, the messages in a SQLite file under dev’s home.
What it asks you for
- The two ports, when the defaults are taken on this machine.
Good to know
Point your projects’ mail configuration at the SMTP port and nothing leaves the machine: every message lands in the interface, which the app reaches through its own port forward. Uninstalling takes back the binary and the service; the messages it caught stay under dev’s home.
