What it installs

• The Neon CLI, the binary Neon publishes for this architecture, answering to both names it uses for itself.
• The key you gave, in the server’s environment file and in the dev shell, so the CLI answers from a terminal without being handed anything.
• Nothing else: your projects, your branches and your databases stay yours to create.

What it asks you for

• Nothing, once your Neon account is connected. The API key — personal or organisation — is given once, in the app.

Good to know

The CLI has no token sign-in of its own: it reads a key from its own flag or from the environment, so a shell that wants it has to be given it. Uninstalling takes back the CLI and the key it stored, and never touches your Neon account.
