What it installs
- The Stripe CLI as the Go binary of its GitHub release, for this architecture, refused unless its checksum is the one the release publishes, then placed under /usr/local/bin.
- The key you gave, in the server’s environment file and in the dev shell as STRIPE_API_KEY.
What it asks you for
- Nothing, once your Stripe account is connected in the app with a restricted test-mode key. The dashboard names the account it opens.
Good to know
stripe listen --forward-to 127.0.0.1:3000/webhooks brings your test webhooks onto a project of the machine, and stripe trigger fires the events. Never give the live secret key: the CLI has no need of it. Uninstalling takes back the CLI and the key, never a customer or a webhook.
